How to start seeds

Basics
Onions
Start out with a good sterile soil-less mix.

Fill the seed starting tray.

Work out a place for the seeds. I like to make a diaganol area for placing multiple seeds. Seeds are cheap and the goal is to have a full tray. If multiples come up, they can either be removed or separated to bigger pots.

Plant the seeds and firmly cover. Be sure to mark the trays as you plant. I have found that masking tape on the side works superb.

Water them in. I like a fine mist as provided by a 1/2 gallon sprayer. It may take multiple passes but it does not wash the seeds away.

Cover with a propagation dome and off to the heat mat for germination.
